New years poem

New years poem

Heavy heads swaying to the beat of the movie in the background.
As swift fight scenes sink into white noise. Past worries of what's
to come drift away into the distance like a dispersing firework.
and the tables once filled with food are merely a distant memory.
As the carnage in the kitchen is merely forgotten for tomorrow.
And the sorrows of last year fade into new, we forget the things
we regret and fix all that is broken. We start a new year.
Yes, we had ups and downs and emotions were all around.
We remember that we can always start fresh no matter
where we are. Yes, no one wants to be a joke but a life
without jokes is incomplete. So laugh along as we all cheer
the simple words of happy new year.

so this is my new years poem, I'm quite happy with how it turned out and am glad i did it.

  1. Hello Alissa,
I really like your poem but you can't read it all because the size is to big.

  4. I like the meaning you've put into this poem, it made it fun to read. You painted a really emotional picture towards the end, and your drawing is very pretty :)

Your poem is very good, and I like how it talks about the problems that are often left behind after New Years.
