6 fun facts about the polish refugees that landed in New Zealand November 1 1944

fact 1> they had to use 33 army trucks to transport the kids and adults from Pahaitua station [ where they landed]to the old internment camp whose official name was now the Polish Children's Camp in Pahaitua.

    Kia ora Alissa,
    33 army trucks sounds like there must have been a lot of children! I wonder what it would have been for them coming to a foreign country. I saw this clip about them.
